A concert review by Karin Christiansen:
I had a great
time again. SAILOR is in my opinion the best band in the
world. They gave us a fantastic show in Brande.
We (my husband Franck and I) started from our home at about 3.
oclock p.m. We arrived at Brande at about 5,15 p.m., where
we met with my younger sister Connie. It was her first SAILOR
concert. 15 minutes later the doors were open, and we could find
our seats. The venue was a big sports centre, and we later found
out, that the acoustic was terrible. The evening started with
some food and a local band playing some music.
Little Richie was the first to play, and he did a small show of
about 20 minutes.
Then it was time for SAILOR. It took a while before they started,
because there were some major sound problems. SAILOR had arrived
so late, that they had no chance of a soundcheck. Mark did a
wonderful job, and hes not at all to blame, that the sound
was not the best. Right in front of the stage (thats where
I usually am at a SAILOR concert), the sound was fine, but
anywhere else it was not perfect. Also SAILOR had no Nickelodeon
on stage, it was still lying in the boxes, but again what
is best: a better sound or a Nickelodeon? Mark had been very
busy!
But they did a wonderful show. Its marvelous Phil! Even
though the audience clearly had not come to here SAILOR (most of
them were there, because they had nothing better to do! it
seemed), you did a fantastic show. Of course we got all the well
known songs as usual, and then they also played "Stay The
Night". Its one of my favourites, and Im very
happy they played it yesterday. Phils got some new
"maracas" (a lemon and an orange
), they sounded
OK, dont know where the sound came from. We had a very
special ending of The Full Monty. Before the ending there were 2
ladies in a very good mood just in front of the stage that
clearly never had seen SAILOR performing the Full Monty before!
They were very impressed, perhaps thats why Henry dropped
his pants? (Always expect the unexpected, eh
). I really
enjoyed "Wooly Bully", Ollie you have the most
beautiful voice! And Ollie thanks again for singing "Con Te
Partiṛ" for me. Ive stopped shaking now! You should
have heard him! Even though the sound was not at all perfect,
Ollie did a fantastic "Con Te Partiṛ".
SAILOR played a little more than 1 hour. This was longer than I
could have hoped for, but I would not have missed a minute of it.
After SAILOR "Middle of the Road" did their show. I
wont say anything about them else than: Sally you should
have stopped singing ages ago!
Im looking forward to the next SAILOR concert. Perhaps my
next concert will be in Stoevring, just 25 minutes by car from my
home. Even my mother (shes 80) will go see SAILOR then!
Greetings to all SAILOR fans. See you somewhere
.
