New
FRONTM3N DVD released this month Who
doesn't want to sit down, relax and just enjoy something
right now?! This works best with the FRONTM3N. The
concert recordings contained here from January 2020,
recorded in the beautiful Admiralspalast in Berlin,
captured a concert of the three gentlemen, which not only
contains the greatest hits of their previous bands (Pete
Lincoln is known from The Sweet and SAILOR, Mick Wilson
from 10 CC and Peter Howarth from The Hollies), but also
includes FRONTM3N's own compositions, which fit
seamlessly into the program. The extraordinary acoustic
versions that the three play are always impressive. In
addition, there were two special guests at this show,
namely Eric Martin from MR. BIG, who performs some of his
greatest hits together with FRONTM3N ("To Be With
You", "Wild World" etc.), as well as Nevio
Passaro (including "Amore Per Semper") and a
few more surprises. All in all the ultimate musical
all-round carefree package to enjoy again and again. But
that's not all, because there is also a 100-minute
documentary about the band, which includes everything
from the beginnings at a small concert in the Krefeld
Kulturfabrik (here even with a fan camera - from your
webmaster here ;-)) up to the current tour in early 2020.
A loving summary that not only pays tribute to the band
but also to guests and the great crew that made it all
possible. You can either get a double live CD, a double DVD or BluRay, or you can get the wonderful limited deluxe edition box containing all ot those. Tracklist: Order via the webshop at www.stuff-music.de or other online stores. Check out the trailer: |
By the way, here's me - your
webmaster - with all stars of this recording: FRONTM3N, Eric
Martin of MR. BIG and Nevio Passaro

We couldn't make it to captain Oliver Marsh's show in Dinslaken (Germany) on Friday, but fortunately there are always people out there to share their photos and reports about the event. So here is one by Knut-Olaf Müller (quick translation by me). You can find the original link with more photos below:
Captain Oliver Marsh boards the Christmas market Neutor With their distinctive Nickeloden sound Georg Kajanus, Henry Marsh, Philip Pickett and Grant Serpell - better known as the band SAILOR, celebrated big musical success in the mid 1970s. Their most successful LP over here, "Trouble", alone remained in the German charts for 40 weeks in 1975 and reached number 3 of the best-selling albums at that time. Although without the theatrical stage shows and the "custom-designed all-purpose machine, the constituents of which were two upright pianos, two synthesizers, mini organs and glockenspiels all mechanically linked and contained within a wooden frame" (Henry Marsh) known from TV appearances, but instead with an extraordinary opera voice, captain Oliver Marsh - son of SAILOR co-founder Henry Marsh - took the audience at the Christmas market Neutor on a (unfortunately way too short) time travel to the 1970s on Friday evening in Dinslaken. In addition to SAILOR evergreens like "A Glass Of Champagne", Give Me Shakespeare" One Drink Too Many", "Stiletto Heels" and of course "Girls Girls Girls", Oliver Marsh especially impressed the audience with his moving "Con To Partirò". SAILOR captain Oliver
Marsh sang a the "Lichtermarkt" in
Essen-Steele, Germany, on 02 November 2019. He sang
mostly SAILOR songs and even something rare -
"Stiletto Heels" - which (if I'm not mistaken)
I hadn't heard live since January 1997. You can find some photos at the Concert Photos-section. Plus you can also see a video bit of his big finale at our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/sailormusiccom/videos/1405823916232452/ |

Yesterday,
SAILOR were meant to play at the R.SA Festival in
Schwarzenberg (Germany) for the first time in over 3
years. But the band only consists of Henry Marsh and
Oliver Marsh at the moment after Phil Pickett's departure
last year. And Henry recently had a hip operation from
which he is still recovering. So, instead of cancelling,
captain Oliver took on the difficult and brave job of
entertaining the enormous crowd at the Schwarzenberg
festival on his own, with a backing track made by Henry
especially for the occasion that included the rest of the
music and his backing vocals. The audience ended up being so impressed by Oliver's voice that the crowd requested an additional encore and he sang a second "Con Te Partirò". You can see some photos and also my first video bits of this impressive special day below. Enjoy! |

Phil
Pickett has left
"(...)
With Georg deciding to give up live performances in 1995
and being replaced by the formidable virtuosity of Pete
Lincoln, and afterwards other personnel changes over
subsequent years including the arrival at various times
of both of Henry's supremely talented sons, Tom, on
drums, and Ollie, on lead vocals, I soldiered (or
'sailored!') on as the ship's anchorman throughout all
these changes, having been (as recently reminded by
Henry) the only consistent member of SAILOR since its
formation in 1973. The sheer fun, laughter and special
companionship of these years still make me smile every
day of my life. After this message, James' book continues by saying "SAILOR will continue, with Henry and Ollie at the helm. Coming to a theatre near you..." Obviously this means that there will be some kind of new SAILOR out there on the stages for us. As soon as I know anything more about the how, where and when, you will of course find the information at this place right here. We'll miss you aboard the SAILOR ship, Phil. Thanks for so many shows and years of music and fun and special memories. Thanks for being the only band member who was there at all my 118 SAILOR concerts. Ahoy! All the best for the new year and thanks for your support of this little fan-website! Best wishes

illness. . Thanks to Georg Kajanus for the lovely tribute on his Facebook page: and to all SAILORs - old and new - and all the wonderful fans/friends out there for your support. ~ Katrin |
