Stars and hits with WAZ: 3000 fans kept on
singing
CongressPark: Oldie Night was a huge success
with Middle Of The Road, Ohio Express, SAILOR, Rattles
C'mon and sing.
3000 music fans did what the Rattles told them and sang
the great hits of the great stars at the WAZ Oldie Night
at the CongressPark Saturday night. Middle Of The Road,
Ohio Express, SAILOR - everyone who wasn't there should
be sad now. Not only the chief of the concert hall Uwe
Rabe was convinced: "This was the best Oldie night
of all time."
The people in Wolfsburg
were in a great mood too. They danced, sang, shouted and
celebrated a long party night that stopped at 4 am in the
morning with an Oldie-disco. Many people had a long way
home because the Oldie night in Wolfsburg is a magnet for
music fans from Braunschweig to Celle. Dr. Markus Karp is
impressed: "I don't remember the bands any more, but
the Oldie night is great for Wolfsburg."
The Yellow Boomerang returned. Middle Of The Road made
the fans dance in the full concert hall. Soley Soley,
Sacramento, Twedle Dee Twedle Dum and of course Chirpy
Chirpy Cheep Cheep - the sing-along hits created a great
mood. Middle Of The Road proved that they can also sound
different with cover-hits like Stop In The Name Of Love.
Musicians, especially from the Oldie genre, like to have
fun together with the audience. When Middle Of The Road
started to sing a German song ("Trink, Brüderlein,
trink") all the 3000 visitors danced and sang
together with them. And the other bands were funny, too!
After quite a convincing "Jodler" Ohio Express
started playing Rocking All Over The World. SAILOR
performed Karma Chameleon, the Rattles played Peggy Sue
and Smoke On The Water.
Of course they also played their hits: Yummy Yummy from
Ohio Express, A Glass Of Champagne and Girls Girls Girls
from SAILOR or The Witch and The Lion Sleeps Tonight from
the Rattles. The WAZ Oldie night made a good mood until 2
am in the morning! The Rattles were happy: "What a
great atmosphere! But maybe that's because the VfL won
the match today..."
The text under the
photo of Rob and Phil says:
Girls Girls Girls and also the boys loved them:
SAILOR were absolutely marvellous. La Bamba and La Cumbia
made the people in Wolfsburg dance.
