New cover version of "A Glass Of Champagne" by Scooter

News from Georg Kajanus regarding the recent cover of "A Glass Of Champagne" by Scooter for the title track of their next album "Jumping All Over The World" (released 30 November 2007):

"Over a month ago, my publisher, Steve Morris, and I were approached by the techno band Scooter for permission to use a large part of my composition 'A Glass Of Champagne' for the title track of their new album, 'Jumping All Over The World'. Steve and I researched the band, liked a lot of what we heard and gave permission. Scooter are rather unique in the way that they approach covers and I saw this as an opportunity for 'Champagne' to reach a whole new demographic.
I've received many e-mails alerting me to this and I just wanted to thank all the concerned fans out there.  However, please know that this cover was done with my full consent.
Georg Kajanus"

Georg Kajanus (well-known as the original SAILOR lead singer and captain) and Tim Dry (Shock, Tik and Tok) met in 1995 at the Bar Marseilles in Barcelona. Sharing a mutual passion for black clothes, Film Noir and music, they decided to form NOIR.
In 1997, everything moved at a rapid pace, with the promo of NOIR’s "Walking" being featured on "Top Of The Pops 2" and "Live and Kicking" - before the single was even released. Channel 4 seized upon the opportunity for NOIR to host and feature their song "Walking" in four, Eurocentric, gastro-pop videos in their new food programme, "Feast". Georg and Tim also wrote the theme music to the show. Then the London Walking Forum signed NOIR up to produce another "Walking" promo video.
Now NOIR’s debut album obtains its first commercial release and includes on the CD an enhanced CDR promotional video of "Walking".

The NOIR "Strange Desire" CD includes the songs:
Walking, Continental At Heart, Hotel Europa, Dreaming, Travelling, Wings Of Desire, Talking, Sex On The Telephone, Film Noir, Darling, Genie, Neo Noir Walking Mix, Believing, Walking (Triangle Of Forces Mix) + Bonus: Walking Promo Video.

28 August 2007:

Congratulations Rob & Anna...

On 26 August 2007 we had the great honour and pleasure to be invited to the wedding of ex-SAILOR Rob Alderton and Anna in Tring (UK) - the place of the legendary 2004 SAILOR headline power cut concert.
It was the most special and unique and fun day ever, including not only the original Chitty Chitty Bang Bang car but also a LOT of fun thanks to everbody involved plus a lot of great songs from various of Rob's extraordinary musicals.
Special thanks to to all the SAILOR fans and SAILORs who have helped us to create the wedding book. You can see the result of this project by clicking below!
If you want to know more about it, just have a look at our little extra page:

Message from Rob & Anna:
Dear Katrin. It was really lovely to have you and Karsten at our wedding on Sunday. The book of messages from Pete, Georg and SAILOR fans was truly special and we'll treasure it. Please pass our thanks onto those who have been kind enough to send us their good wishes; it's overwhelming to still be in the thoughts of SAILOR and their fans.
Lots of love
Rob and Anna... Alderton!

13 August 2007:

Another "Best Of" CD...

Here's a new CD named "The Best Of Sailor" which was just released by the label Eurotrend (Catalogue number: Eurotrend 142.429).

"Oh no, not another bootleg", we thought, as this label released one of the fake SAILOR bootlegs a few years ago. But this is a real one.
I'm not sure if this helps to avoid confusion or if it just adds the the general confusion, but anyway:

This CD includes all 19 songs from the first of the two CDs of SAILOR's original "Buried Treasure" anthology CD boxed set (in a different order). This means that all the various SAILOR line-ups are featured on this CD again with: Georg Kajanus, Henry Marsh, Phil Pickett, Grant Serpell, Virginia David, Gavin David, Peter Lincoln and Rob Alderton.

The CD includes the songs:
A Glass Of Champagne, Girls Girls Girls, La Cumbia, The Secretary, One Drink Too Many, Stiletto Heels, Panama (live), Traffic Jam (demo), Nickelodeon Nights, Stereotype, TV Land, Estepona, Farewell To Berlin, Chained To The Wheel, Heart Of The Matter, Open Up The Door (live), Changes, Karma Chameleon, Sailor (live).

01 July 2007:

Have a look at our new Video of the month!!
This month it's a very special concert/journey report from Grant Serpell - with special thanks to Grant & Michelle Serpell for filming and providing this material ©.
The concert was an "Oldie Night" at a festival tent in Gehrden, Germany, and took place on 30 September 1995.
See the soundcheck/preparations plus some more funny "behind the scenes" material, a lot of very enthusiastic fans and some extracts of the concert.
The video is expecially interesting as you can see the great work of the world's best drummer better than on any other videos during the show - we think! ;-)
